An initial consultation is for a prospective collaborators looking to inquire about their participation in individual or relationship counselling or psychotherapy services.
The consultation is an opportunity for us to discuss:
administration such as frequency of session(s) and session rate
discuss goals, needs and expectations for alignment
therapeutic approaches offered and discussing beliefs/values/context
share practitioner values, approaches and experience
additional topics or questions that are important to you
this is offered either virtually or via phone call
the conversation is scheduled for 20-minutes
consultations also follow confidentiality and privacy requirements.

couples or pods wanting support with a specific and current issue
partners navigating a defined transition (opening up a relationship, a big decision, a communication breakdown)
relationships that are generally stable but hit a specific snag
What we’re focusing on:
improving communication and conflict resolution around a current issue

Values: Trauma-centred, justice-oriented, empathetic, collaborative, anti-oppressive, cultural humble, harmonious and curious (non-exhaustive).
Lived Experience: I draw from my own lived experiences and offer it in sessions when appropriate and consented to. This includes navigating mental health and substance use challenges including anxiety, discovering my gender, sexual and neurodivergent identities and accessing various forms of formal and informal support and care.
A passionate queer, non-binary, panromantic/sexual, polyamorous, AuDHD white settler, located on the lands covered by Toronto Purchase Treaty 13, colonially known as Toronto.

First step is to book a consultation appointment. This is a key step to ensure we’re both a good match and allows us both to share or ask any necessary questions.

Enter some personal details to create an account in our secure electronic management system called Practice Better.
Submit an appointment request (no email will be received yet).
Your request will be reviewed and approved and your account will be set up and appointment confirmed to your email and account.
After your consultation. If we agree to work together, you will receive a welcome email and onboarding and consent form to complete.

Counselling tends to be a shorter journey though timelines can vary from a single session, 1-7 sessions or even transition into psychotherapy for an ongoing period.
Psychotherapy tends to be a longer and ongoing experience for many. A minimum of 12-24 sessions are suggested. Some folks participate in therapy for a few months, over a year or is a constant support they maintain throughout their life.
Frequency: Can take form weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. This often varies and adapts based on several factors: therapeutic goals, availability, funds/insurance etc.

Absolutely! We specialize in supporting 2S/LGBTQIA+ individuals and various relationship dynamics (monogamy, non-monogamy and polyamory) where you can expect a validating and affirming space to focus on your goals.
We practice cultural humility by being reflective and accountable to any bias, recognizing our role as a mental health provider, respecting your individual journey and acknowledge our knowledge and limitations. Knowing that you’re the expert on your own experiences.
We believe in our responsibility to go against the system we are a part of being anti-oppressive, socially and politically informed and engaged. This encourages conversations that may go beyond your intended therapy goals and allows a space for processing the realities exist in.
