Psychotherapy and Consulting Services

“a person is a fluid process, not a fixed and static entity; a flowing river of change, not a block of solid material; a continually changing constellation of potentialities, not a fixed quantity of traits.”

Our Approach & Values

  • Person-centred Therapy

  • Narrative Therapy

  • Solutions-focused Therapy

  • Acceptance Commitment Therapy

An underlying frustration and oppressive reality is living in a western, colonial and capitalistic society. This restrictive box perpetuates a white cis male ableism dominance as well the value of individualism over an intentional spectrum of care and growth for self and others. Considering our social location, we know that our degree of social, physical, emotional and mental well-being may often be determined based on our intersecting identities and the degree of power we hold or don't (Thank you Kimberlé Crenshaw).

As we practice from a humanist lens we believe that everyone has the ability to heal, grow and thrive in life. Though this gets hindered as the societal values we currently exist in are the barriers to fulfilment. We know that human and cultural oppression, genocide, greed and a climate crisis are historical and ongoing realities that must be considered and addressed in this helping profession. When collaborating with clients and partners we work to acknowledge and understand how we can better show up as a human first and share space with empathy, genuine care and validation. Our work together needs to be collaborative, accepting and supportive. This may not crumble the oppressive reality immediately, but it'll redirect our energy to be able heal, grow and bring about meaningful change within our communities and expand to our systems and policies.
